Brewing Method
Classic Cup Method: 5g per 200ml | 90°C | 1 min. Pre-warm the leaves to release the aroma first. Pour water and watch the “silver needles” rise and fall vertically in the glass. It’s a beautiful, meditative sight.
Gongfu Style (Covered Bowl): 3g per 130ml | 85°C-90°C | 3s, 5s, 10s. Flash Brew: Start with very quick infusions (2-3 seconds). The tea is so rich that it releases its flavor instantly. You can repeat this process up to 15 times.
Cold Brew: 6g per 1L cold water. Steep in the fridge for 8-12 hours. This method allows the active enzymes to extract slowly, resulting in a super-smooth, sweet nectar.
FAQ
1.What is the main benefit of Silver Needles? Beyond its delicate taste, it is highly valued for its cooling properties. In TCM, it is used to “dispel heat” and “reduce fire.” With twice the active enzymes of other teas, it is a superior choice for skin health and anti-aging.
2.Why is it more expensive than other white teas? It is made only from the first spring buds. No leaves are allowed. The harvesting window is tiny, and the manual labor required to pick only the plumpest buds makes it a rare luxury.
3. Does white tea expire? No. As your supplier data shows, it has a validity period of 15-20 years or longer. In China, they say: “One-year-old white tea is tea, three-year-old is medicine, and seven-year-old is a treasure.”
4. Is it okay to use 90°C water? Yes! High-quality Silver Needles with thick, hairy buds can handle higher temperatures (up to 90°C) if the steeping time is kept short. This helps fully extract the complex minerals and vitamins.
