FAQ

FAQ

1. Should I wash the leaves first?

Not really! Unlike dark Pu-erh teas that need a “wake-up call” rinse, Moonlight Beauty is delicate and clean. Those silver-white buds are covered in tiny hairs (trichomes) that carry the nectar-like sweetness. If you rinse it, you’re throwing away the first layer of honey! Skip the rinse and enjoy from the first sip.

2. How hot should the water be?

Moonlight Beauty is pretty chill, but it has limits. If you use rolling boiling water (100°C), you might lose the subtle floral orchid notes.

  • The Sweet Spot: Around 85°C – 90°C.

  • Pro Tip: No thermometer? Pour boiling water into your teapot or gaiwan, wait about 2 minutes with the lid off, and then add the tea leaves. This brings the temp down to that perfect range.

3. The “Lazy Legend” Way: Forgetting the tea

One of the best things about Moonlight Beauty? It’s almost impossible to ruin.

  1. Don’t panic: If you leave it steeping for 5 minutes instead of 20 seconds, it won’t turn bitter like green tea.

  2. The Result: It just gets thicker, sweeter, and more “honey-like.”

  3. Grandpa Style: You can literally throw a pinch of leaves into a tall glass, fill it with hot water, and just keep refilling it all day. It’s the ultimate “work-from-home” tea.

Description

Description

Moonlight Beauty | Yue Guang Bai White Tea

Experience the “Moonlight Beauty,” one of the most poetic and unique teas from the high-altitude forests of Yunnan. This tea, known as Yue Guang Bai, is a masterpiece of minimalism. It is made from the tender leaves of ancient Pu-erh trees, but instead of being pan-fired, it is slowly withered at night, allowing it to develop a complex, nectar-like sweetness.

The Soul of the Ancient Trees

Unlike common white teas, Moonlight Beauty comes from large-leaf tea varieties (Da Ye). This gives the infusion a “thicker” body and a more pronounced Cha Qi (tea energy). It is incredibly smooth, low in astringency, and develops deeper honey notes as it ages.

Sensory Journey

  • Aroma: A captivating fragrance of wild forest honey and blooming white flowers.

  • Taste: Silky and mellow. The palate is dominated by stone fruit (plum) notes and a rich floral nectar that lingers long after the last sip.

  • Liquor: A clear, golden-amber infusion that glows in the cup.

Health & Wellness

Rich in polyphenols and antioxidants, Moonlight Beauty is prized for its cooling properties and its ability to calm the mind. Because it is minimally processed, it is very gentle on the stomach, making it an ideal tea for any time of day.
